Pamela Anderson, feeling more concerned about her children and media interest in her divorce, is all for an amicable and dignified settlement with Kid Rock.  Pamela’s posting on her website pamelaanderson.com read: “I am very concerned with the press on mine and Bob’s divorce… my children can read … and I’d like to resolve this amicably… not fueling fires… and with dignity.”

Singer Rock, aged 35 and Pamela, 39, who shot to fame with the tele-serial Baywatch married around four months ago. The short-lived marriage has come to an end because of “irreconcilable differences”. Pamela Anderson has been a Playboy magazine model and recently enacted in the much talked about film Borat.

Newspapers have had a field day speculating on the reasons for their divorce. Kid Rock is said to be upset over Anderson for playing the role of the protagonist’s sexual obsession in the film Borat, while she feels that Rock has a number of unresolved anger issues. However, none of these reasons have been confirmed by both the celebrities.

According to a website, Pam Anderson has filed her divorce papers signaling an end to relations with husband Kid Rock. The reason cited by the hot ex-Baywatch star is the usual ‘irreconcilable differences’. Pam has got celebrity specialist lawyer Neal Hersh representing her. The marriage that took place on August 3, 2006 barely lasted 4 months. Anderson was reported to have had a miscarriage in November.

Kid Rock too has been reported to have filed divorce papers in what seems to be who pips whom to the post. He beat Pam Anderson by 53 minutes, as he got to file his papers almost an hour earlier. A comparative study of the papers reveals Kid and Pam giving different dates for separation. Pam has mentioned the date as November 21, while according to Kid it is November 26. They surely seem to disagree on the date of separation too.

The couple has been reported not to have signed a pre-nuptial agreement. Not that it will make much difference to the short alliance. Pam’s official website gives a short statement on the divorce, saying: “Yes, it’s true. Unfortunately impossible.”

Hollywood star Kate Winslet had an opportunity to meet her ex-boyfriend Rufus Sewell on the sets of the movie The Holiday. According to her, it was a friendly meeting. The then little known Kate had a romantic three-month period with British actor Sewell until Titanic happened, and she was catapulted to overnight stardom. They have hardly met each other since, but to Kate, Sewell is still a friend. According to a website, Kate Winslet is quoted to have said: “It was completely fine. I hadn’t seen him for a very long time but we’d remained friends. It was really not a big deal .I was thrilled he got the part.”

At present Sewell is dating actress Alice Eve, while Kate is happily married to director Sam Mendes. Kate is believed to be in the thick of family matters, enjoying her stint as a mother of two children – one six-year old Mia, from her ex-husband Jim Threapleton, and the other Joe, a three-year old from her current husband Sam Mendes. Kate is known to be enjoying motherhood so much that she wants more kids. Said Kate: “I’m hoping to have more kids. I don’t know whether to have one or two. Oh God, I would love to have more.”

If the grapevine is to be believed, Angelina Jolie is working voodoo on lover-boy Brad Pitt to keep him away from ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Jennifer were still married, when both Pitt and Jolie, who were shooting for Mr. and Mrs. Smith, started acting as real-life couple. The Jolie-smitten Mr. opted out of his marriage to Jennifer, and accepted to be father to Jolie’s adopted kids. Later, the Brad-Jolie pair was blessed with their own daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.

Dr.Snake, an acknowledged voodoo expert, is of the view that Jolie has got cast a magical spell on Brad Pitt to keep him from entertaining thoughts of ever going back to his ex. Jolie is playing the role of reporter Daniel Pearl’s widow, who was killed in Pakistan. Jennifer Aniston has picked up life post-Brad Pitt dating Vince actor Vaghun.

Jude Law and Sienna Miller have finally split over “fundamental differences”. Law had earlier admitted to having had a torrid affair with his children’s nanny. This signals the end of their three year old relationship. The couple earlier split in 2005 when a report about Jude’s affair with the nanny Daisy Wright appeared in a national newspaper. But, they re-united earlier this year, only to realize that the relationship was heading nowhere.

The 24 year old hunk has laid the blame on Miller for his brief affair with Wright. According to him, if Miller was not partying she was sleeping, and not caring enough.

Law had earlier divorced his actress wife Sadie Frost in late 2003. They had three children and a child from Sadie Frost’s earlier relationship. Since Law continued to be close to his kids and to Frost as well, it was hurting Miller. Law and Miller met on the sets of Alfie, and were soon involved romantically. The couple announced their engagement on Christmas Day in 2004.

A few months later Wright spilled the beans on their affair in the newspapers. Miller put an end to the relationship while Law apologized. A few months apart and the duo realized that they needed another go at making the relationship work. Jude Law and Miller got together again only to find that they could not cope with the fundamental differences. According to insiders, the couple mutually agreed to put an end to the relationship.

Britney and Federline had a steamy sex relationship when the going was good. They even got made a video of their extended sexual sessions during the first few weeks of their marriage. The video that runs up to four hours has been offered for sale by Kevin Federline to an Arizona-based film company for a reported ₤26 million, if a friend of his is to be believed. According to the News of the World, he said, “This vid is dynamite and Kev knows it.”

Britney had filed for divorce after she caught Federline with another woman in bed. Kevin, otherwise too, is known for his appetite for hookers. Knowing the repercussions the damning video can have on her life and career, she is ready for a trade-off, and the price could be a reported ₤16 million plus handing over custody of their children to Federline.

According to Agencies, Federline’s friend is believed to have said, “At the time the two of them were in honeymoon stages of the relationship and couldn’t keep their hands off each other. They did nothing all day but have sex. Britney didn’t think twice about making the video at the time. She mistakenly believed that their love would last. They adored filming each other. They lived their lives in front of the cameras - even making a short-lived reality TV show of their exploits.

“Now this video could prove very costly to her. Millions of people will be prepared to pay to watch. Kevin has told Britney she should comply with his demands otherwise the whole world will see her having sex, which will be devastating.”

Kevin is keen to avenge the video doing the rounds on YouTube that shows him receive the SMS informing him that he had been dumped by Britney.

Kevin Federline, who was SMS-dumped, was found to be stumped when he received the dreaded text message. Thus, Britney’s soon-to-be ex entered the growing club of sidelined lovers who were bumped out of the scene through the SMS. YouTube.com registered over a million hits on a video that shows Federline apparently receiving an SMS with a message saying that Britney had filed for divorce.

Federline is shown recording a television reality show and mentioning how Spears was his biggest fan. All this comes to a sudden end when the text message arrives. He can be seen holding his head in his hands and ripping off the microphone. He then walks out of the room only to return after about 30 minutes.

Surveys show that 95% of 16 to 24 year olds use text messaging regularly in Britain, and the trend has caught up with the age group in the US since last year. More and more teenagers and people in their twenties are using the text to signal the end of relationships, and Federline is not the first, and he will certainly not be the last.

Britney Spears, who shot to fame with her “Oops!… I Did It Again”, has gone ahead and filed for divorce from husband Kevin Federline after two years of marriage and two kids later. It does not seem long ago since the pop star proudly addressed herself as Mrs. Federline when she tied the knot with Kevin Federline in September 2004. She became a proud mother to son Sean Preston last year, and just two months back gave birth to the couple’s second child Jayden James.

Tabloids have been reporting regularly on their stormy marriage and were speculating on the split for long. The 24-year-old singer has cited “irreconcilable difference” as the reason for the divorce. She had been denying rumors all along, but went ahead and filed for divorce on November 6, a day after she appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman”. There were no indications of the impending divorce, as Spears joked and laughed with the television chat show host.

According to the celebrity website tmz.com, Spears, who has a net worth over $120 million as reported by a 2004 Forbes survey, is well protected by a strong pre-nuptial agreement. She is unlikely to feature in a costly settlement. Spears is represented by the redoubtable celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has a clients’ list including Angelina Jolie and Kiefer Sutherland.

The pop star, who has lost tabloid space to the likes of Shakira, Beyonce, and Hilton, will be seeking custody of her two children, according to the documents lodged at the Los Angeles superior court.

The rate at which celebrities divorce, and create an ugly scene when it comes to splitting estates, has prompted many to ask the question: “Why do celebrities marry at all?” The pain that the celebrities undergo clearly shows on their fans as well.
